Situated on the banks of the Li River, Yangshuo in southeast China is surrounded by limestone mountains that are a beautiful backrop to a culture filled city. It was the last day on a visit there in September of 2013, an early morning rise to catch a bus to the next city made for a last chance at capturing this stunning landscape.
Beyond the politics of Tibet and it’s relationship with the Chinese government lies a place of incredible landscape and culture. While on a recent trip through Tibet, I had the opportunity to hike through the mountains near Lhasa. As mentioned in an older post Nature’s Art, a little extra effort and a 10 minute hike up a hill beyond where my group was having lunch revealed a number of these beautiful blue flowers.
Yes it has been some time since posting a photo. It was a busy summer and I spent the better part of September and October travelling through Hong Kong, mainland China, Tibet and Nepal. This photo was one of many mountain passes in Tibet that were covered in prayer flags.
